[Case Study of Wooden Facility Renovation] Edafunayama Kofun Park Beam Bridge
Appropriate renovation proposals are possible! Introducing cases where FRP materials have been used for the renovation of girder bridges.
We would like to introduce a case of renovation of the girder bridge in "Eda Funayama Kofun Park (Wamizu Town, Kumamoto Prefecture)." This pedestrian bridge is located within a park famous for the ancient burial mound where the first known example of kanji, the large sword, was excavated. The bridge, made of foreign timber, was renovated due to deterioration. The main girder was replaced with steel treated with hot-dip galvanization, and the flooring was replaced with cedar wood. It has become a bridge that allows for long-term use and easy maintenance. 【Renovation Case】 ■ Renovation Details: Girder Bridge (Width 2.5m × Length 14.5m) ■ Materials Used - Structural Material: Bongo wood → Steel girder - Flooring: Bongo wood → Cedar wood - Handrail: Teak wood → Reused Our company is capable of making appropriate renovation proposals by combining various materials such as steel, aluminum alloys, FRP, recycled wood, and natural wood.
